Food and Health Tracking
Tayeb—meaning “delicious” or “pure” in Arabic—is a solo UX project that offers users an ethical, faith-informed guide to food transparency. Developed as a design intervention, the app addresses concerns around food sourcing, processing, and the ethical treatment of animals by presenting clear guidance through an Islamic framework of permissible, impermissible, and mashbooh (uncertain) categories. Through playful iconography, nutritional scoring, barcode scanning, and dual-language support, Tayeb helps both Muslims and non-Muslims make better-informed choices rooted in health, religious ethics, and sustainability. The interface is designed for speed and clarity—Figma-based and optimized for iPhone X—with illustrated characters, sticker-based engagement, and shareable product recommendations that make the experience simple and personable. Visually, Tayeb combines earthy tones, clean bilingual typography, and intuitive layouts to create a trustworthy space for everyday decision-making. Finalized over three weeks, this project taught me how culturally conscious design can empower users to eat with intention, compassion, and confidence.
